One of the interesting things about coming back to a place where I've spent so much time is that I've fallen right back into my familiar routine. Admittedly, this schedule is remarkably similar whether I'm busking in Italy, Seattle, or the French Quarter so it's never far from my mind, but the details of where and when I do what have settled quite quickly.
I build my day around my two busking sets, one in the late morning and the other in the early evening. I typically get up, go for a walk, perform, either take another walk or visit a specific attraction, take a nap, perform again, take another walk, and go to bed. It's hardly a glamorous life, it just happens in some pretty neat places :)
I get asked a lot about the food here, and it is wonderful. I don't quite eat the way most people expect, however. I have five small meals a day, typically before and after each busking set in addition to a light breakfast. Breakfast is a croissant (Nutella filling is my favorite), and the other four involve bread, cheese, and fruit. The after-busking meals also usually include a glass of wine.
On my morning walk I have my breakfast and I pick up four buns and a hunk of cheese, both bread and cheese being different every day. I go through a bottle of wine every three days or so, and get fruit as I run out. This gets
me through the day, with a multi-vitamin thrown in to cover the nutritional gaps. I do eat out occasionally, every two weeks or so, and I tend to supplement things with street food according to cravings (kebabs/gyros feature heavily on my goody list).
As I said, it's not the most glamorous life, but one that seems to suit me!
