vinceconaway | Rome Day Two

I've got insomnia because my body is convinced it's only 10 pm rather than
four in the morning. An honest mistake, I'm sure. I'm glad I got
groceries because it thinks I forgot to have dinner too (but a banana shut
it up).

Today I went busking! I performed for about an hour and fifteen minutes
this evening and it went very well. I sold a few CDs and took home some
tips, and met some really interesting people both local and touristing. I
was wondering how comfortable I'd feel about it and whether I'd have to
force myself to take the first step. I dove right in, took right to it,
and now I'm very eager for the new day to dawn so I can go play the
Pantheon!

I spent the afternoon scouting the city and talking to other busking
musicians, and always got the same answers as everyone else I'd talked to;
sometimes the cops ask you to move along, but generally they don't care.
This was really driven home while I was busking. I was at a corner in an
area with very little car traffic, and I had accidentally left just enough
room for a car to pass (I thought the street was pedestrian only). A cop
car squeezed right by me, not six inches away, with not a word mentioned.
It was an absolutely amazing day, and I'm really excited to head off again
tomorrow!
