I'm proud of my career, and I'm proud of my art. But the thing about which I am most proud is my weight loss.
The long-term success rate on weight loss is about .0005, or about one in two thousand. Musical careers have a much easier time than this thing I did on the side. And, speaking of career, my income got a serious boost at the same time I was coming off dieting: I joke it was the tights, but studies involving earnings and beauty standards suggest otherwise.
I get self-conscious about the priority I give to weight maintenance, but it all comes down to this being one of the heftier achievements of my life.

Date: 2014-12-02 10:05 pm (UTC)Good luck to you, I had tried to lose weight for my appearance several times, but it wasn't until I got scared about my health that it really came together. My uncle died of colon cancer, which is a really bad process to see someone go through, and since I was apparently already screwed genetically diet was my only variable.
