Morning Routines on the Road
Mar. 1st, 2016 09:20 amMy life is in constant flux, as I travel from place to place and rarely hold still for long. I've been in Austin for three weeks, an impressive stretch by my standards, and my daily life has evolved its routines. I'm a creature of habit, by nature, which may be why travel feeds my spirit so much.
I'm enjoying my Austin mornings, when I walk to my favourite cafe, peruse Twitter with my coffee, and take the long route home along the river. It's a great way to get grounded in my day and about four miles of waking to boot.
More generally, my day begins when I wake up naturally between 6:30 and 7, read the headlines and my favourite blogs, and surf Facebook for a bit (typically until I start to get annoyed at all the various flavours of wrong politics in my beloved friends). I'm most mentally active in the morning, so it tends to be creative time: last month I spent 9-12 in the recording studio, and it's the time of day I do things like post blogs.
Whoa. Meta.
I'm a morning person, and have been since birth (with a brief exception as a teenager). Mornings feed me, they're when I'm most alive and together. I enjoy being social in the evening, just don't ask me to make a decision.
