Aging (gracefully?)
Mar. 1st, 2015 02:01 pmI can start to feel middle age make itself known.
My energy levels are going down, but my attention span is going up. I've historically busked two 45 minute sets divided by a 20 minute walk, but while the energy is less there for walking I finally have the ability to really hit a groove in a 90-minute set.
I've waited years for this, and I'm encouraged that even as I find new limitations some old ones will be lifted.
As for graceful aging, it helps that my self-image and stage persona have been more "professor Vince" and less "studly musician" almost a dozen years at this point. Thank goodness for those who find professors to be studly...
