An Ode to Genoa II
Sep. 28th, 2013 09:14 pmA few days ago I mentioned why I feel so attached to Genoa, and it's since become clear it's not one sided. The first clue was a busker who saw me pass and, knowing me from years past hailed me, "ciao America!" Then a passerby stopped as I was busking to say the magic words: "I saw you years ago and I would like to buy your CDs".
I have two local hotels I like, and I've used the other one my past few visits. Regardless, one receptionist said she recognized my name when I booked the room, and another asked after a girl who stayed with me here in 2009. And then he shared his grappa with me.
It's good to be back.
