My audience and I have reached an understanding: when the temperature hovers around freezing I don't want to play and they don't want to listen. I did perform for the 45 minutes my pitch was in direct sunlight, but when that went away so did I. Thankfully tomorrow is forecast to reach the fifties and then into the low sixties through Christmas.
Yesterday I got shifted for the first time this tour. A pair of cops (female ones, fitting neatly into past experience) gave me grief about selling CDs. As I was packing up, a woman approached me and I sold her two, right in front of said cops. It didn't occur to me until later that this was a wee bit audacious.
Tomorrow is moving day! I'm leaving my hotel to go to a hostel on the other side of town. I'll save a little money, but honestly I'm doing it so I won't be alone for the holidays. I've stayed there before, spitting distance from St Peter's, and I know the area well.
Things are going quite well so far, minor setbacks aside, and I'm feeling good.
