Smart Day

I hope I'm not jinxing myself, but I felt really smart yesterday. In the
morning I visited the Capitoline museum, which has an amazing collection
of Roman, Etruscan, and Greek sculpture. The Roman bronzes are
particularly stunning - they were really wizards. My smart moment came
when, on entering a museum of ancient sculpture, I saw a statue and said
"I'd swear that was by Bernini" (and therefore 17th century). Lo and
behold it was. It was included in the collection because it was a statue
of Pope Urban VIII, who was one of the guys who had given a lot of the
stuff to the museum (to his credit, when the pope decided to purge the
pagan statuary from the Vatican he didn't destroy it).

The second smart moment was while busking, when I held two simultaneous
conversations, one each in Italian and English. To make it even cooler, I
never stopped playing the whole time (which was what the Italian
conversation was about). My day was rounded out when, after visiting a
museum in the morning and busking in the afternoon, I went pubbing with my
friend Tim at night, which is always a good time. Quite the day!
